Awesome one of a kind dive. I've been loving Fleur-de-Lis for about 38 years. I've never been treated rudely and I couldn't care less if the parking lot has pot holes or not. Hell, I've walked five miles to eat here. The beer is cold and I have never been told I couldn't have another. Who cares if they don't take debit cards - I love the fact that they still trust their clientele enough to take a personal check. So all you prissy naysayers and prima donnas do us a favor and go to Chuck E Cheese. That way, I can get my pickled egg and Around The World without your negative karma.

This is THE best pizza in Baton Rouge...best restaurant building/tables/chairs...no, but who cares about that. This pizza is thin and loaded with toppings. The edges are by far the best and like a pan of brownies the first pieces to go. You will smell like pizza for the rest of the day and ladies, the parking lot is not heel friendly. But I cannot say enough good things about the pizza...amazing, delicious, and I'd probably eat this off the bottom of an ashtray if necessary.

Although Fleur de Lis is one of Baton Rouge's favorite (and likely oldest) restaurants, I'm not their biggest fan. Mostly this is due to the interior as I do think their pizza is delicious. I've just never been a fan of dark and dingy "Cheers"-like restaurants, especially when you are bringing kids into the mix. Pro's: I've always preferred crunchy, thin crust pizzas over thick, tummy-bloating, crusty pizzas. They serve nothing but thin crust, and their famed "Around the World" pizza is really great. Very limited selection from what I noticed, but they were super crowded when we went as the pizza is just that good. They also do cute, unique things like short, plain glasses to pour your drinks into and no plates for the pizza as they are pre-cut into small squares so napkins only required. Also, some of the decorations are cool as they are historic to the area and unique items on the walls. Con's: The service wasn't the worst, but you could tell they don't want to be bothered with special requests, like more napkins, chairs, etc. Perhaps they were just busy, but something tells me they have so much business, they just don't bother putting up with "needy" customers. My biggest beef was actually the bathroom, specifically the ladies. You walk into a tiny room...not sure if it's a waiting room or just an unfortunate set up of wasted space, but hardly enough for one person to fit. Then, the bathroom itself had no ventilation, so I felt like I was suffocating while awaiting my two daughters taking turns on the potty. You would think for a place that's been open for as long as they have, they'd take some time, consideration, and money into fixing this problem. So...want my advice? Definitely plan to try the pizza from here as if you're a thin crust fan like me, you'll probably love it. BUT take it to go and skip the dine in experience as I plan to next time. You can check out the unique decorations and skip out before claustrophobia sets in like it nearly did for me.

I've been coming to this place my entire life and nothing has changed! Love their small glasses, too! Truly nostalgic

How does Fleur de Lis NOT get 5 stars? It's the most nostalgic restaurant in Baton Rouge, and one of the 3 or 4 oldest as far as I know. I've heard out of towners complain about the size, the age, the decor, etc. But that's the point. I know when I walk on that my dad saw the same Budweiser sign above the bar when his dad took him there for the first time. Now I can talk about the food. I'm not a huge pizza guy, but I always find myself craving Fleur de Lis. I get the Around the World, no anchovies, add pineapple and shrimp. It's loaded with toppings, and so full of flavor. I love the thin, soft crust and I love how the corners get crispy. If you're a drinker, order a beer. You'll get a little 8oz frosty glass to refill from your cold bottle. They also have cokes and root beers in glass bottles. It's just an overall enjoyable experience, especially for a local.

The best, the one and only pizza place in Baton Rouge. If its not from Fleur De Lis its not pizza. The around the world with shrimp is heavenly.

Poor Service At A Bargain Basement Prices Ambiance: 2-stars It's a dive. 22 tables packed into a small room on a "grab-a-table" basis. To flat-screen TVs let you know it's 2015, everything else says 1974 (with grime). Old things are nice, but only if they are cleaned. Seats: 0-stars Seats are torn up on most chairs. Not comfortable to sit upon. Service: 2-stars. VERY GENEROUS. We arrived at 7pm on Friday. Place was packed with customers. Bartender told us orders were running at 1 hour 20 minutes. Said it was best to put in the order then find a table. Not seeing a menu, I ordered 3 large pizzas for our party. A table opened up soon enough and our waitress bussed the table. She suggested we add one more pizza to the table's order. Their large pizzas only serve 2 people which makes them "medium" in my book, but that's just terminology. She updated our ticket and got our drinks. My wife asked for a menu, just so we could get an idea on offerings and prices. The waitress never brought the menu. After 10 minutes, I went and got a menu from the bar. The waitress was there working through her tickets and apologized for not bringing a menu. Turns out, they're a cheap pizza place. They don't do refills on anything, including tea, but at $1 per glass, don't argue. The tea, by the way, is egg-water tea. You'll get used to it. The drinks showed up without straws, we asked the waitress to bring them. She never did. Another trip to the bar. The waitress was there working on her tickets and apologized again. We were sitting just inches in front of the jukebox and still couldn't hear it. Never put a table in front of a jukebox. More wasted space can be found at the wood and glass phone booth. There's no pay phone in it. A pinball machine is packed into the corner behind a dining table. The only way to play it would be to tickle the ears of the diner sitting next to it every time you manipulate the flippers. Get rid of all three. Three nearby tables would clear of diners while we waited for our pizza. The largest was uncleared for more than 45 minutes. One family of 6 came in and waited for 15 minutes, standing there next to the uncleared table, before they gave up and left. Somewhere around 8:30, our waitress stopped at our table and said she would be getting us refills. I said no. I wanted refills when the pizzas showed up. The place was running about 60-70% full at this time. About 10 minutes later, the pizzas started showing up. We were short one pizza. The waitress threw the kitchen staff under the bus for the delay and got a rush on the missing large pepperoni. This resulted in a 0-star rated exchange that should never happen in a restaurant. 3 of us wanted pepperoni only. The best way for all to dine comfortably would be to give one of them a plate. "We're gonna need a plate," I asked. "The pieces are 2 inches square. They're small. Why do you need a plate?" She asked in reply. Apparently, diners need to justify their needs at Fleur de Lis Pizza. "We need a plate. I want her," me pointing to the lone pepperoni eater "to have a few slices of that," now pointing to the opposite end of the table. "We do sell pickled eggs. Those come on a plate. You want pickled eggs?" she asked. (Do I want pickled eggs? Did she just ask me that?) "I don't need pickled eggs. Can you just bring us an extra plate?" I asked yet again, grinning, but I doubt my smile reached my eyes. "I'll get you a plate." She smiled and walked off. We never got that plate. What is wrong with me asking for an extra plate? Why do I have to convince the waitress to get me an extra plate? Why did it never arrive? It is the little details that will derail a meal. Drink refills did arrive in a timely fashion. We even got free grated Romano for all our trouble. (Guys, if your margins are so thin that you have to charge 50-cents for something that other places give you for free, you need to re-work your business plan.) The final pepperoni pizza showed up before everyone else finished eating. Note: One of the pizzas was made incorrectly. Jalapeños on the half-veggie pizza that were not ordered. This caused a problem for one of us. However, having waited more than 1-and-a-half hours for 75% of our meal, we decided to just make do with what we had. As horrible as the service was, I tipped 20% because the meal worked out to less than $10 per person. Arguing with the waitress aside, I blame management for much of her woes. The place is understaffed for the number of tables it runs. The kitchen is insufficient to the needs of the diners. The food? It's good pizza. Too good for the price they charge. It just isn't worth the wait, the attitude, the unattended stacks of debris on neighboring tables, or the poor service. This place is best for people who have no money and still want to think they've been out to dine at a restaurant. That's actually a compliment. Bring the kids, but call ahead.

Another one of my FAVORITE Baton Rouge staples. At first you walk in and you're kinda like "whoa... a bit waaay too divey". But it's awesome, crowded or not. It's pretty much where I go to attain my "body by pizza".. meaning I devour wayyyyy too much. My bf has been known to be one of those guys that can eat a whole large pie to himself.. Well, he found his mate, because the last time we went, we ordered seconds. Meaning - we both pretty much ate a whole large pie to ourselves. Yea, we ordered the first "Around the World" pie (has everything on it, you can ask for anchovies on the side, but I love em, so bring it) and it took a good 30 minutes, but that's okay, because it gave us time to enjoy some drinks and each other's company and the random jukebox songs. It's no-frillls for sure. Knowing that they were busy but we were still craving MORE... we asked the waitress to put in another order anyways. She totally hooked it up and we got the next pie much sooner. It's my favorite pizza in Baton Rouge. If you're going on a date here... be warned - you might end up smelling like a garlic clove by the end and gotta kiss (or not) first base goodbye.

Yes - it's divey , yes -it's kind of dirty , the parking lot is messed up , the ventilation sucks , and yes - the building is old. They don't take credit cards , drinks come in bottles rather than from a soda fountain - another reason many people complain about this place. If you're a fan of commercial pizza places you should probably stay away. That being said , I'm not a native of Baton Rouge , but I lived there long enough to know where all of the great restaurants are - and this is one of them. Fleur de Lis would not have been in business this long if they didn't have great pizza. The "Around the World" with anchovies is their specialty and my personal favorite. My other option is the "Veggie" but I always added shrimp. The crust is thin and crisp but there still plenty of mouth watering toppings - and just the right amount of grease. Something else is different about this pizza but I can't quite put my finger on it. I ate here on many occasions during my time in Baton Rouge , and I'm not even the biggest fan of pizza. I've had better in larger cites , but this place is really great if you can get over the inconveniences and concentrate on food quality. Most of the bad reviews are centered on location and conditions. I really miss Fleur de Lis and I'll go back every time I visit BR.

The last few times my Baton-Rouge-born fiance & I have been in town, we have missed Fleur-de-lis (as they are closed Sundays & Mondays). What can I say... timing is everything. We finally made it 30 mins before closing this Tuesday (9:30 pm). Our server was friendly & served us an ice-cold, bottled Abita Amber. We took it to go & the pizza was scrumptious. Savory, salty & crunchy mingled with slightly sweet & luscious. It was different than most pizza I've had & I definitely like it. Then again, I like most dive bar places with a cult like following. Especially when the food is this tasty!

Fleur de Lis Cocktail Lounge is my favorite hole in the wall pizza joint. It is THE perfect place to grab a bite after an LSU game, assuming you: a.) beat the stadium crowd, b.) are in the mood for some seriously delicious Italian pie, and c.) are carrying cash, as they inexplicably do not accept credit cards. IKR? Welcome to the 20th century! Aside from that glaring inconvenience, prepare yourself for what's sure to become a fixture on your Baton Rouge dining circuit. The pizzas are rectangular and soft. I believe they're baked on biscuit dough and come in two sizes: small, which is roughly as big as a standard sheet of paper (8 1/2 x 11), and large, which is about twice that (11 x 17). It's actually been a while since I've been there, so these are just ballpark estimates. Around the World is their signature pie. As you may have guessed, It takes its name after a Duncan yo-yo trick I once attempted on the playground at recess. Years later, it became internationally famous when Daft Punk wrote a song about it. Wanna hear it? Here it go ... around the world, around the world, around the world, around the world, around the world, around the world, around the ... ok, you get the idea. Let me break it down for you: cheese, anchovies, mushrooms, Italian sausage and onions. Basically, if you aren't a fan of hairy fish, you probably aren't going to be down with ATW. Though substitutions and/or omissions technically aren't allowed on any of their specialty pizzas, you're afforded the option of paying a little extra per topping in creating your own combination. These are fairly standard pizza parlor rules, so don't go getting lippy with your server, mkay? The shrimp pie is another choice selection. Regardless of what topping(s) you ultimately decide upon, you're bound to be amazed at the tenderness of each Utopian square that enters your mouth. I have yet to encounter a better all-around pizza, though Campisi's Egyptian in Dallas manages to serve up a reasonable facsimile. Sodas are served in 10 ounce bottles, so no free refills. Barq's comes in a 12 ounce bottle, so if you're the strategic root beer loving type, there's that. For an unusual appetizer, try a pickled egg with onions. Or don't have an appetizer. The menu is truly that limited. While this place may be considered an institution, it's also quite a dive. Pale pink and unassuming on the outside, poorly lit and rather dingy on the interior. This may have improved somewhat with Louisiana's recent smoking ban. Truth be told, you're not going here for the ambience. You're on a mission from God. If you plan on drinking alcohol and/or hanging out for a bit, be sure to bring a few quarters for the jukebox. If you can't hear the tunes, ask the barkeep to turn up the volume. There's a knob hidden back there somewhere.

Tonight I ordered a Round the World pizza no anchoveys, extra cheese for carryout. It was ready in only 10 minutes & it was the best pizza I've had in a long time! I've been wanting to eat here for years but everytime I drove by there or thought about it the parking lot was sooo packed that I didn't feel like dealing with it.The pizza had lots of toppings & the crust was thin,it was delicious! The only downside was the price.I thought $15 was pretty expensive for a large pizza that looked more like a medium.I will definitely eat there again.

Love this place...dark, tiny and divey...small bar, only bottled beer but otherwise a full bar and OUTSTANDING PIZZA!!! Stopped in around 5ish on a Friday with the boy in tow...Maybe 6-7 people in the place and they looked like drinking regulars not eating regulars, if you know what I mean...All the "good" people appeared to be getting their tasty pizza from the To Go window on the outside... Wanted to try this place cause on the 1st round of trying pizza in Baton Rouge this was on my list of Top 3 and it worked out this was last tried BUT after digging on the vibe of this place and stuffing that delicious pizza in my face the Fleur is definitely Numero Uno!! Followed by Oscar's and the Mellow Mushroom...when you roll in here though be prepared to pay in cash...and enjoy some great pizza, Roman style! This joint is on my come back on a regular basis list!! Words can't adequately describe the love I got for the place & the pizza!

We were looking for a good NY style pizza, but since that doesn't seem to exist in Baton Rouge, we opted for a Roman pie from Fleur de Lis. We ordered in to enjoy the ambiance of this Red Stick staple, but in the future, we'll call ahead and pick it up to go. The wait is long for your food and there are no appetizers, bread, crackers, etc., so if you're hungry it will seem even longer. Don't bark at the waitstaff, though, as our neighboring table did. Visit the jukebox, play pinball, or just enjoy a good old-fashioned conversation with your company. The place is dark and old, and you'll forget whether it's sunny or raining outside during your stay in this time warp, but that's just another part of the fun. Not many staff for the crowd (I counted two waiters for the whole packed place), so be patient and nice. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. The place only accepts cash (or check), and there is an ATM there. Large pizzas aren't the jumbo size you're used to and probably feed no more than two, so order accordingly. And spend the extra $.50 on the side of Romano cheese. The soft, sweet cheese adds a wonderful flavor to the pizza.

After years of hearing of how incredible the pizza is supposed to be here, I was unfortunately disappointed. I ordered a cheese and my friend ordered the around the world. Both of us had the same reaction - that it tasted like something out of a grocery store freezer section. It took a good while to come out of the kitchen. We didn't finish and didn't ask to bring home the leftovers. Oh well, at least I know what I wasn't missing.

I feel bad but I wasn't impressed by the pizza. Don't get me wrong, it was good but not the best. I did like the bloody mary tho. Also, I'm not fond of establishments that don't take credit/debit but do have an ATM. So basically they get a couple dollars from the ATM fee. Its bs. If u don't take cards then don't house an ATM because it looks like a setup to get more money... if you're gonna go old school then u need to keep the whole establishment old school.

I wasn't over impressed with this place. The pizza was okay. And a large wasn't really large at all. It's also a tad bit on the expensive side. A large peperoni costs 12. And, they don't take credit cards. Cash or check only.

Another reviewer described Fleur de Lis as "dark and divey" and I'd say I agree. If you are looking for a well lit Chuckee Cheese then you're in the wrong place. It's "divey" but it's clean, and the staff is well-mannered despite what I've read here. Been going there many years and no one's ever been rude; slow perhaps, but not rude. Again, it's the nature of the "beast" - if you want a different experience then go elsewhere. This place has been making award winning pizzas in the Baton Rouge area for longer than I've been alive. The "Around the World" with anchovies is my favourite and a large is just about enough for two people. This is thin crust "Sicilian" style pizza and NOT what you will get at Pizza Hut or Domino's. It's rectangular, not round... thin and somewhat crispy. There is only a single dining room and the space is PACKED with chairs and tables. Large groups (over 8 people) will OFTEN have to wait for enough tables to empty out and be put together if they all want to sit together. AGAIN, if that irks you in some way then get over it or go somewhere else. The service isn't the "lightning fast" expectation of modern America; not at rush times like lunch or dinner. Your pizza isn't constructed in advance, cooked and waiting in a warmer oven for you to walk in like Little Cesears, It's cooked once you order it and.even if NOBODY else has an order in before you it's going to take 15 to 20 minutes for it to be prepared and to properly cook. Again, if you're impatient then go somewhere else. As for me and my friends, we understand and appreciate that part of the experience that is Fleur de Lis is that it IS an experience, not just a meal. Maybe it's not the sort of thing some people appreciate, but that's to be expected - not everybody wants to wait or finds dark and old to be interesting. They sure must be doing something right though - just check 225 magazine etc. and you will find them "Best Pizza in Town" if not every year then quite often. As far as "dirty," I suggest people who think that check with the city's restaurant inspection listings - I don't think you'll find any violations... so that's just not the case. If it were there'd be health code violations listed. So, all in all... don't diss mah favourite pizza place! Very BUSY place! Kick back and RELAX! Your server isn't ignoring you, she just has eight other tables of people just as hungry and demanding to deal with.

Road trip through Baton Rouge, and after already traveling 1500 miles, we had a craving for some good pizza. Wife was convinced we would not find it. Leap of faith based on quick check of Yelp star rating and location not far from hotel. I love finding local dives, and boy this one fit the bill! A place you would never enter just by driving by. Middle age, we did not feel out of place at all when we finally found the door. Personal pizzas were perfect, though we found eating the gooey cheese and thin crust a bit of a challenge with no utensils (apparently this is how it is done...). Yes, everything is extra, but it is all inexpensive. Juke box belted out Mack the Knife and holiday classics. How could anyone visiting go to a chain with a place like this around?

Well, we had a great waitress. Outside of that, place left a lot to be desired. Pizza was okay, but not the best I've had in Baton Rouge. Beer was great. Served cold. Parking lot was in shambles. Rest rooms...ugh. No credit cards accepted!

My family used to like this place, as the pizza is usually pretty good. However, a rude, overbearing manager has driven my family away from Fleur de Lis forever. This obnoxious person pompously refused to allow a perfectly reasonable request that any other restaurant in the city would have gladly filled (because "that's not the way we do things here" -- an answer given because there apparently wasn't any real explanation). While this lady had already gotten on our nerves, we were still willing to overlook it and enjoy our pizza. It was obvious that she was looking for an excuse to get rid of us because she had already decided that she didn't like us, but by being polite, we denied her any such excuse, so she left us alone and went back to minding her business. (But perhaps I'm overstating just how much she's minding the business -- it's grungy and poorly lit, and very few customers were present.) After moving from the bar to sit at a table, one of us called out to one of the waitresses to ask whether it was her that would wait our table, or somebody else. The exact quote, in a well-projected yet entirely friendly voice, was "Are you going to be serving us?" If you feel like this is a reasonable question to ask of the waitstaff, I'd be inclined to agree with you -- we certainly felt it was reasonable! Unfortunately, the rude manager didn't agree. She reappeared at our table a moment later and said, "You know what? I'm not going to tolerate you people treating my employees like this. You need to leave." Dumbfounded, we fumbled for a response to ask what the problem was, since none of the other employees we had spoken to appeared at all upset, and we didn't understand what she was mad about. She responded, "You screamed at my waitress! You're not the kind of people I allow at my restaurant. You have to leave now." We tried to respond that nobody had screamed at anybody, but she just kept insisting that we had to leave, announcing loudly for the entire restaurant to hear, "That's not the kind of people I like to serve here." We'll be happy to grant your wish, lady -- we'll never come back to be "served" like that again, and I doubt any of our friends will either. Such a shame how far this place, where I once had a fun 16th birthday, has fallen. Now we know why hardly anybody goes there anymore.

This isn't bad review of their product. The pizza is definitely a step up from chain pizza. What's preventing me from giving it a higher rating is the establishment itself. The parking lot is an old dirt unpaved mess full of potholes and they only take cash or personal checks. This may not be a big deal to a lot of people but, I don't feel like this much thought should be put into getting a good pizza. It's not something you can't get at any other mom and pop pizza place and it's nothing that stood out to me really. Maybe I would be less bothered if this wasn't the same pizza place that constantly wins local awards for best pizza in town. Baton Rouge doesn't have a whole lot of great restaurants or pizza joints.

I love Fleur de Lis Pizza because it is so different. Do not order it thinking it is a regular pizza - it isn't. I am a huge fan of their pizza but I am not a fan of eating there AT ALL. Should you decide to get pizza there I would order by phone and pickup at their outdoor window. You can order it to be cooked when you arrive or half-baked and you can finish it in your oven at home. Inside: Dark, dated, dreary, old, bar and you will leave smelling like grease. Your choice.

I don't get the hype. The appeal for locals who have been around for a long time is that it hasn't changed. That is the problem, though. Parking lot is full of huge pot holes, they only take cash, cokes are served in glass bottles with no free refills, etc. You may have to wait an hour or longer for your pizza. Speaking of which, the choice of toppings is rather limited and the pizza itself isn't that great. Sure, it is better than delivery chains but this is no NYC pizza.

Parking lot is in need of attention. The building is old and inside is dark. Bathroom is gross. As for the pizza....being from the east coast and Italian, this is not pizza that I know and love. It was good but more like a crepe. I love the history of the place and the pink exterior but it does need some tlc. Will be back at some point but not my first choice for a night out.

Perfect little divey place with ice cold beer in the bottle and little six ounce glasses to pour them in. It reminds me of a number of places in the Midwest. The pizza is thin crust and cut in squares. Sauce is excellent and the cheese and toppings are fresh cut daily. They even shred their own mozz and parm. There are three things to eat here. Pizza, pickled eggs, and potato chips. I've had the pizza. Haven't drank enough to try the pickled eggs. Family owned and operated for over forty years. Too cool!

A FANTASTIC and PRICEY place to come to when you are tired of comfortable, roomy restaurants that serve food you can't prepare better yourself. The skinny chairs offer the best in rickety, noisy experience, bellying you up to the table amongst so co-patrons at their adjoining tables can share the 13.25597209135 inches of walking space between as you pick up your drink orders. Even sodas are served in the 6-oz Collins glasses. A BR EXPERIENCE to say the least, and the best thing going for Totino's frozen Pizza, an epicurean delight next to the 'Roman' fare advertised here.

Fleur de Lis is home of "Around the World "pizza and I encourage you to try it if you are in Baton Rouge. It is old, dark, crowded restaurant, but extremely popular and has some of the best pizza around. It is truly a Mid-City tradition and somewhat of a treasure. You'll have sodas served in Glass bottles...there is nothing better! Enjoy! Bring your cash...no credit cards accepted!

One word: overrated. That's Fleur de Lis in a nutshell. A friend and I picked up a "large" pepperoni pizza from the restaurant on a relatively busy Saturday night. Upon bringing it home and eating it, it was clear there were several issues. They were super stingy on the pepperoni-- literally one piece on every other slice. The sauce also tasted bland, but sour. The cheese was rubbery. Finally, it's like every other pizza you can get a sub par pizza parlor in a big city except you're paying $11.25 + tax on a "large" pizza that is barely enough for two people.

The only place in the south who understands how to make a pizza. I've been living down here for two years and this is the first place I've found that actually makes a New York style pizza with any approximation of a New Yorker. I split a large pie with my girlfriend and it was more than enough for both of us. The bar is a bit of a dive, but that only adds to its appeal. The pizza and beer is extremely cheap compared to other lesser pizzerias in town. I won't claim to be a culinary impresario for baton rouge, but this is by far the best restaurant I've eaten at in town.

Fleur-De-Lis is the epitome of the perfect dive. It is an establishment in Baton Rouge, with a style that originated in the 50's and has survived, nearly unchanged, for generations. As you walk up on the building, you see a pink facade with "Fleur de lis" written in retro-style lettering, giving the building a 1950's south Hollywood appearance... not what you would expect for a pizzeria, but unique and appealing nonetheless. Inside, you are transported back in time. My father used to come her in the 60's with my grandparents when he was a small boy. The decor, he says, is nearly unchanged... from the old menu board with snap on lettering to the famous Budweiser Clydesdale light fixture hanging in the dining room. Beyond the nostalgic aurora of the physical structure, the pizza is the really great thing about this place. It is an incredible thin-crust loaded high with cheese and other toppings, all cut into squares. Its hard to describe how good it is, but I can honestly say that it is the best I've ever had. My travels for work have allowed me to eat in some of the best pizzerias in Chicago, New York, and a number of other big cities across America... nothing touches the deliciousness of Fleur de lis. - Get the "Around the World" pizza: Cheese, Anchovy, Mushrooms, Italian Sausage, and Onions. A+ - Get there early on Friday and Saturday nights... they do not take reservations and its first come, first served, find your own table, every man for himself once in the dining room... Ive seen 2 hour waits in there before. BOTTOM LINE: The #1 place for pizza in the United States of America.

This is the best pizza in Baton Rouge. It is not as good as Sally's or Pepe's in New Haven, CT (which is the standard I use for pizza comparisons), but it is as good as it gets around here - especially the Around the World Pizza with anchovies. Take out is available at the side window under the covered awning. If you do want take out, call way in advance because the wait is sometimes over an hour and even longer on game days - but well worth it. Also, the large pizza is not huge, but is enough for two people. Dining-in is an experience, so prepare yourself to have fun. My first visit I asked if they had a salad and was told all they have close to a salad is pickled eggs behind the bar. I didn't get one, but I was tempted. Also, like the sign there says, the beer is ice cold. One warning, if you do dine-in prepare to leave smelling like pizza (not a bad thing, but consider it if you're going elsewhere afterwards since you don't want to make others smelling you hungry). Last thing, cash or local check - don't think the 1950's décor is just a façade.

This is an odd place. They seem to think they are the creme of the crop, or at least their rules give that away. No cussing, no more than two beers, cash and check (yes, a check) only, no free refills (what is this, Europe?), no splitting a check at all, no substitutions, you can't hold a table even if it isn't busy, I'm pretty sure they charge for water... Like for real? It's 2013. This place seems like they don't want to update to 2013. The lights are so dim, very noisy (I'm sure they tried to fit in as many people as the fire marshal allowed.) This is my second attempt to eat here... My first time I waited 2 hours for a pizza... If I get my food, I can guarantee you I won't be returning until they update... Nostalgia is one thing, cheapness is another...

Cash only. No credit card/debt processing machine in 2013. What other reason besides shady tax practices could this be? 90%+ of customers who walk into a local business have a CC/debit card in their possession.

Tried the "Around the world pizza" and really enjoyed it. The pizza is thin, full of meat, and has a ton of taste. It is cooked well, meaning that they layer the ingredients and cheese so that it is easy to eat. Great for pick up.

Pizza was really good, but the place is dirty and the staff is rude! We had a large group, 12 people I believe. They couldn't seat us together which was fine, so we ended up at 4 tables all close. The problem came when they said we had to be on one check because we came in all together. Even though we were at 4 different tables. I had a heated discussion with the waitress and was getting up to leave when they finally decided to graciously accommodate us.

This restaurant is very overrated in my opinion. I understand the appeal of the local joint that has been around forever, however I found Fleur De-Lis sorely lacking in any measure of atmosphere or service. It simply felt like a dive with shoddy customer service and an unacceptably long wait (45 min-1 hr to get pizza). This restaurant also entertains some "interesting" rules in regards to a family establishment. If I remember correctly a "no cuss words" policy is enforced and an adult beverage limit is in place (2 per person). Instead of critiquing these policies, I simply wish to make potential guests aware. I imagine this type of atmosphere appeals to some but certainly not the rowdy college student crowd. The pizza was very average in my opinion when it finally came. Another negative is there is virtually no appetizer to order while you wait....for a long time. However, on the plus side there are pickled eggs to eat while you wait (quite good).

The best hole in the wall pizza joint in all of Baton Rouge. Thin is in~

After living in Baton Rouge for a year, I always drove past this dingy place, but finally I decided to give it a try. I went into a bar area, it was pretty dark, except for the lights coming through the windows. The majority of the tables were filled with people in their business suits to people in their street clothes. The servers were friendly and quick. The pizza is simple, yet so YUMMY! The best one in Baton Rouge that I have found. It's kind of pricey for the sizes that's why I only gave 4 stars.

As far as pizza goes, this place is great. I have had two of their pizzas. Like so many before me, I recommend the Around the World pizza. And don't you dare hold the anchovies. A small pizza is enough for one person. The building was built in the 1940s and they have maintained their classic decor. Like the 1940s, sodas are in bottles; no Wi-fi; credit cards aren't allowed; and Parmesan cheese, substitutions, and refills aren't free. Their menu today has a plain cheese and 12 one topping pizzas at $6.25 for a small and $10.25 for a large: Anchovy, Bell Pepper, Hot Banana Pepper, Green Olive, Black Olive, Canadian Bacon, Italian Sausage, Mushroom, Onion, Pepperoni, Salami, and Pineapple. The shrimp pizza, Round the Word (Anchovy, Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Pepperoni, Salami, Onions), and Vegetarian (Bell Peppers, Black Olives, Mushrooms, Onions, Hot Peppers) pizzas are $8.25 for a small and $11.75 for a large. Substitutions and extra ingredients are $0.50 for a small and $0.75 for a large. A side order of Romano cheese is $0.50 and pickled eggs are $0.75.

Best pizza in Baton Rouge, maybe the best thin crust I've ever had. Always call ahead, sometimes the wait can be hours long. They had to raise their prices so, a large Around the World (Anchovy, Italian Sausage, Mushrooms, Pepperoni, Salami, Onions) is $11.75. Be a man, Embrace the anchovies

I've been here twice and had a decent time both times. Their rules are a bit inconvenient only allowing cash but there is something to be said for having a little character. I give them 3/5 because our servers weren't the most friendly and the pizza was slightly above average. It's much better than the local chains, but I didn't find it to be as good as the other reviewers on here. Maybe they had off nights when I went. Expect to smell like a big pizza after you go. There isn't much ventilation in the old style building and it has a distinct smell. We went to Radio Bar after going once and our waitress there asked us if we were at Fleur-De-Lis because she could smell it on us. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

Which door do you enter into...found it. Definitely an older crowd during lunch. It is a cash only place and the day I visited, a police officer came out of the kitchen which seemed strange. The pizza was great. The service was good. I would return.

Delicious rectangular pizza, very old music on a very old jukebox, and beer in curiously small glasses. What more could you possibly want?

uh mah gah becky look at her butt. Well, this place is going to get this butt a growing. I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW GOOD THIS PLACE IS. PLEASE JUST GO. It is a dive. It is old. It looks like it will burn down any second. Please just go eat it. Look at the pictures. It tastes a million times better than how awesome the pics look. Again, no way to explain. Just eat it. Best ever.

Their pizza is without a doubt the best in Baton Rouge. Consistently good! It tastes the same as it did the first time I tried it in 2005. Yeah, if you try to get some pizza on a Friday night, you're going to wait a pretty long time. That's because it's so good! So if you want to try it, I suggest calling it in for pick up or going on a week night. I know I've been served more than two drinks before, so I'm not sure why another reviewer said there was a two drink minimum. As long as you're not being rowdy or slurring your speech, I don't think you'll have a problem. I don't think their cash/check-only thing is shady. This is a small, local, family-owned business. There are fees associated with taking plastic, so either the restaurant would have to pay that on their own, or it would be reflected in the menu prices. And if not taking cards is not affecting their business, then what's the point? Let the pizza stay cheaper for those of us not too lazy to take cash out ahead of time. If you don't want to pay their ATM fee, there is a branch of almost every bank within 1 mile of the restaurant. As charming as the little pink building is, I would really like to see them expand or open a second location. They really are too popular for a building as tiny as the one they are currently in. I also wish they had more vegetarian options. Their only non-meat toppings are cheese, pineapple, bell peppers, black olives, mushrooms, onions, banana peppers. But since their pizza is so incredibly awesome and perfect, there is no way I can rate them any lower than 5/5.

I know this place is a Baton Rouge favorite. I have lived here for 15 years and fail to understand why. I find the pizza to be good but not great. If you want service I suggest you go elsewhere. If you want a few beers I suggest you go elsewhere. If you want to have a good time I suggest you go elsewhere. If you plan on getting your food in the next hour I suggest you go elsewhere. If you plan on paying anyway but cash or check I suggest you go elsewhere. There is a long list of "offenses" that will result in your being asked to leave. Not limited to: Asking how much longer your pizza will be; ordering more beer than they feel you should have (mind you I'm all for not overserving a drunk but 2-4 beers with dinner is hardly drunk for most); cussing ( never had a problem with at one but have known several who have). I marked it off my list several years ago and will never be back. There are two pizza places within few blocks that offer better service (and in my opinion better food). I understand that they claim to be a "family retaurant" but they take it a bit far. Especially for a place called a "Cocktail Lounge." And what rude/bad service have to do with being a "family restaurant" im not sure. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. If you really like the pizza that much get one to go and invite your mom over to eat. Request she treat you like child while you eat. At least you won't have to pay extra for drinks( till she cuts you off).

Great pizza. Just tried this place a couple of months ago and have been back several times. Definitely meets my "cheap eats" criteria. Place is full of folks who've been eating there for years. You know you found a great place when you have them tell you they've been coming to this place for more than 20 years.

Just went to Fleur-De-Lis, again, and was reminded how perfectly perfect the pizza is. Let me start by saying I don't go to this place for the ambiance, you won't find it here, but if you want some amazing pizza, you have come to right place. I thought place was closed for the longest time, and they make you work before entering (use the door by the road, the other 3 are locked), but eventually I entered the magic door and discovered the treasure that lies within this old, pink building. Walking in is like a time warp, and you are back in a tiny little dive with the bottled beverages and cafeteria style plates. I can appreciate that this place hasn't changed one bit. The owners know the décor is not what keeps people coming back. I have tried pizza all over the country, and to this day I have not found better pizza than Fleur-de-lis. Something about the thin crust and the toppings just work and combine to form square-cut deliciousness. I suggest ordering one pizza per person, they aren't huge. You will probably eat it and if you don't, boom - leftover pizza! If you love or even just like pizza, you will be a fan! P.S. Cash only...I always forget, and there is an ATM, just a heads up.

A diner would have to head down to New Orleans to find a more overrated place to eat. Baton Rougeans seem to have no taste for preserving old architecture or culture, so old fashioned 'charming' (sort of) FdL has taken on an aura that prompts more of the positive ratings than the food itself. And it doesn't really give off the "dive' ambience either, to one who knows and loves a good "dive". It it were in a new structure, its business would drop by more than 1/2. Go in, enjoy a longneck, move on.

This place is a total dive, but the pizza is AMAZING!!! We seriously went here 3 times the first week we found it. Can't say enough!!! Yum yum yum.

  • Randy G.

I had read about this place and was curious to see two things; how good was the pizza, and how unfriendly were the staff. Well, they were 50/50. The staff was friendly but the pizza is like pizza hut but a little better. They even use a conveyor like those pizza factories. The sauce was non existent, the cheese was burnt, and the crust, it isn't traditional at all. I can see where some would like it, but for me, not my favorite.

    (2)
  • Steve C.

How does this ancient dive do it? Pies that look so suspect yet taste so darned wonderful? Brought a small crowd with me recently and horned our way into a table (about 8 p.m. on a Wednesday and the place was still packed). Ordered the "Round the World," Pepperoni, and Vegetable pizzas and all were piping hot and cooked to long-standing expectation. Possibly the charm of this place is that you are absolutely convinced that you're eating one of mama's pizzas from the 1950s, put together with whatever she had leftover in the kitchen. Not all ingredients are fresh, mind you. What I mean is that some are notably canned or pickled, which sometimes gives a true comfort food feel to the pies, sometimes a piquant sweetness that's not usually encountered in pizzas. Whatever, throngs of people agree and continue showing up to wolf down Fleur de lis Pizzas. I hope I eat many more in my days.

This place is an old, dirty, filthy, nasty, no plates, no silverware, smells like cigarette smoke, dive that happens to have awesome pizzas. Just the kind of place I like.

As a native of Baton Rouge and a pizza lover alike, I can confidently say that this diamond in the rough makes the BEST pizza in the city. My family and I have been coming here for almost 20 years and have never left disappointed. While the DINING experience is undoubtedly "family friendly" through and through (i don't know why it's called a "cocktail lounge"), the atmosphere reminds me of an 80's pub where motorcycle brawls took place in the back parking lot. The jukebox, bottled soft drinks, neon lighting, smoky air, and waitstaff resembling "Rizzo" from Grease might be why. But, that's part of the infamous FDL charm. I wouldn't change a thing. The pizza is cut in small squares, likening it to finger food. We typically order two veggies. The crust is thin and foldable. I don't usually enjoy thickly layered cheese, but LOVE it on FDL's pizza. Every pie comes with a small tub of freshly grated parmesan, which also plays a crucial role in the pizza's awesomeness. The cheese must come from some holy pet cow that secretly lives in the back. I've tried to put my finger on what exactly makes the pizza so good -- the dough? sauce? cheese? toppings? oven? -- but still can't figure it out. Whatever it is, keep doing it. The prices are reasonable - a large pie costs about $11. Expect fast "in and out" service Monday-Thursday, but a 45 min+ wait on the weekends.

  • Jaime T.

I love Fleur De Lis Pizza. There simply isn't any better in Baton Rouge. I would suggest going at off "peak" times if you want to dine in, or take-out for dinner as it can be hard to get a table.

I've never had the pleasure of dining in (it does seem dark, but um...I hate light?), but the pizza is SUPERB! I love how they make the pizza with the cheese covering all other ingredients. It's like their pizza superglue. I always have issues with ingredients falling off of my pizza at other places. Like a meatball/pepperoni avalanche. This is not okay, because I like to MAXIMIZE my fat intake and I hate picking pieces off of my plate. If I wanted a cheese pizza, I would've ordered a cheese pizza. Two (large, rectangular) pizzas = ~$21. I think that's affordable. Especially since I usually have a few pieces to snack on later. I would have to order THREE (or more) Pizza Hut Personal Pan pizzas to get the same amount of satisfaction. Yeah, satisfaction. The only thing I didn't like about Fleur-De-Lis was finding out they don't take credit/debit. They'll take cash/check.

Since a Baton Rouge local told me to go this hole-in-the-wall pizza place, I knew it would be something worth trying because belieeeeeve me. I LOVE hole in the wall places! Yea, it may look dingy and shady and abandoned, but hey, if they make some real good food, that's all that matters!! Unfortunately, if only this was true for Fleur De Lis. So I ordered 'Round the world' whole pizza ($7) for myself and man oh man, was it tiny or what?! And why did I say "Anchovies please?" Seriously, what was I thinking?! It was so salty but I guess that's what I get for being ambitious about my first pizza try here in the lounge. The crust was extremely thin so that meant some of my toppings just slid right into my mouth. It wasn't anything special to me but I'll definitely try it again based on some of the other reviews. P.S. NO CREDIT CARDS!!!

  • Laura R.

Totally agree with Dana A., it's a "Reasonably priced, Family owned gem of Baton Rouge." Don't let the name fool you - it's a casual pizza joint not a cocktail lounge. Nothing fancy about it but the quality is good and consistent and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. This is an anything goes type of place. It's probably not the best I've ever had, but if I'm on this side of town it's a sure thing.

    (3)
  • Matt W.

It doesn't get much more fun. Is this the best pizza in the world? No, but it's decent and the environment is unique. I sure wouldn't want to see the floors in this place with the lights on high or in the sunlight, but the "rustic" (lol) feel is part of its charm. Every time I come into town, this is on the top of my list b/c of all the fun memories I have of eating here over the years. Remember it's cash only, but the price is very affordable as well. Beer is inexpensive as well. As mentiond above, food is tasty, not amazing, but tasty and affordable. It's one of those Baton Rouge institutions everyone should try at least once! I bet you'll find yourself coming back again!

  • Ryan W.

A Baton Rouge classic; the definition of dive. This shady bar room serves some of the greasiest most delicious pizza you can imagine and they do takeout if you don't want to bring the kids into the old dirty bar room.

  • Ellen K.

I actually crave their Around the World pizzas, complete with anchovies! Love to get it to go while I have a glass of wine at this dark, dive bar. Wouldn't want to eat here. Afraid of seeing roaches!

  • Kelly H.

OK, you can call this review biased because everyone has an idea of what constitutes the perfect pizza. My idea of perfect pizza was formed at this establishment. I have eaten pizza all across this great land of ours - this is IN MY OPINION the best there is. It has the thin crispness of a good NYC pie along with a good deal of Southern spice. It's perfect. That's it. The place is very casual and you will probably have a bit of wait, especially on weekends. Totally worth it!

    (5)
  • Jim K.

Good pizza on a budget! Thin crust and a good amount of cheese, sizes are almost personalized.

It is very rare that I become emotional when the subject of pizza comes into the public forum for discussion or debate, but when that subject is Fleur De Lis pizza in Baton Rouge, I become a most impassioned advocate for all that this little pink building has come to represent for not just the fine people of south Louisiana but for all of Louisiana, for you will not find better pizza, until maybe you reach the shores of Lake Michigan. Fleur De Lis isn't just a pizzeria, no, it is an institution! Fleur De Lis, to me, is Baton Rouge. Forget what you think you know about pizza! Bring your appetite and your cash, because they don't take debit-credit cards at this holiest of hole-in-the-walls! You will not walk out, the same person, as when you walked in, and you will be better for it. Best pizza on this side of the planet!

    (5)
  • Colleen H.

This is a great place! It gets pretty crowded on the weekends. But there is a reason for this....It's the best damn pizza in the world! Yes, it really is!

  • Nannette B.

I just don't know how I feel about this place. Its nit all that invitingcost wasn't even apparent where to enter the restaurant at. No one is trying very hard to be friendly or make the atmosphere friendly. We were a little frightened when we walked in, no smiles, no greets, no directions, no music on the juke box...kinda felt like we were intruding. The pizza was just OK, nothing grand. I'm a picky pizza eater though. My son put some music on to liven it up which surely helped. I felt like I was unwanted there, it was a tad weird. I knew from reading these reviews that they only took cash so we came prepared, but I didn't see any signage stating cash only which is silly. You smell like crap when you leave too. The food was just ok...but I don't want to go back.

Dive bar & Awesome Pizza! What more can one ask for! I agree, the Around The World is the way to go, even better with Anchovies! Wish I could get one right now. This is my all time favorite pizza. This is the first place I go when arriving in Baton Rouge! Cash only!

    (5)
  • Steve M.

10 years ago I loved this place. No days, not so much. Some of the other reviews here nails my perception as well. The pies seem smaller and the crust thinner. The review about the anchovies was spot on as well. Last time I went here which has got to be close to two years now I ordered anchovy, took one bite and was done. All I could taste was salt and fish. Also the sauce tasted like plain tomato sauce from a can. Asked if I could get the pizza re-made with not so much anchovy and was told no unless I buy another. Paid my bill, left and have never returned.

  • Katie W.

Possibly my favorite pizza anywhere! Don't let the pink building fool you (unless you already think pink = awesome). The seating area is designed for function over beauty, but the pizza is super tasty and reasonably priced. A small is just the right size for one person, so everyone in your party can get what they want for around $5 each. If you don't like thin crust or square slices, this is probably not the place for you. Oh, and one last piece of advice - if you dine in, you WILL smell like Fleur de Lis pizza for the rest of the day. Thankfully their take-out is just as yummy!

    (5)
  • Dana A.

What I really love about Fleur De Lis is that it's consistently good. Thin crust, not too sweet of a sauce, perfect amount of toppings. I usually stick to the classic Pepperoni. Definitely order a side of fresh grated Romano cheese....it's worth the .50 upcharge. Order it to go and pick it up at the window or eat in...either way, be sure to bring cash or a check. They'll even half bake a pizza for your freezer! Reasonably priced, Family owned gem of Baton Rouge.

    (5)
  • Clay A.

I have been going there since I was a small child, and it's still the same family owned business, with a vintage pinball machine in the corner and the world's best pizza!

    (5)
  • Valentine C.

You will never put better pizza in your mouth. This has been a classic in my family for generations. The Fleur is family-owned and run and gets some serious local business. Friday and Saturday nights are always hoppin', with AT LEAST an hour wait for pizza, so be prepared to settle in, plan ahead, or go on a week night. Fleur only serves rectangular, thin crust pizza, but there is nothing better in Baton Rouge. They offer a fair range of toppings and all at reasonable prices.

    (5)
  • Kyle W.

The only reason it didn't make 5 stars with me is because the service. Just feels like I'm bothering them when I call in an order. The pizza, however, is out of this world.

  • Sarah S.

Despite the rave reviews I've read here, I simply cannot agree. It's not that the pizza is terrible, but rather it is simply nothing special. The mozzarella is rubbery and the crust quite heavy. I'm not saying you won't like it, but if you are one for a light and crispy pizza with ingredients that perfectly blend, this is NOT your pizza. Definitely do not eat the pizza in the "bar," it's much better to go. I would much prefer a pizza from Papa Murphy's to pop in my oven.

The pizza here is very unique. Not the best pizza I have ever had by any means, but has a very original taste. I like the setting a lot - a small dinner like setting with full bar that looks as if it hasn't changed since the 70s. The place is also quite small and intimate. The menu is concise and straight forward - they do one thing and they do it well. No credit cards, cash or check only. I highly recommend this place for the local flavor, no nonsense menu and unique pizza.

Another one of those places you wouldn't stop at unless someone had reccommended it, but after you do, you're glad you did. Hands down my #1 Pizza pick anywhere. That's all they do, and they do it right. And you can order it half baked to go and finish cooking it at home, just pull around to the back of the building and they have a little pick up window you get out and go get your pizza.

  • emily c.

This place would get 5 stars if they'd accept credit cards. Their pizza is awesome and worth the wait time. To cut down on wait, call ahead with your pizza order... and if you want to eat here on a weekend night, you better get there early! The Around the World pizza is fantastic. Everything is relatively cheap for what it is -- thin crust, just enough cheese, loaded with toppings, and super light sauce. Makes me miss living in Capital Heights.

    (4)
  • M J.

I'm not a fan. I ordered the vegetarian pizza for lunch. The veggies were not fresh, the pizza sauce was boring, and the crust was too thick. They don't take credit cards.

  • Lloyd B.

Take the pizza out of this ambience and it's probably not 5 stars but the combination of the locals, old school ambience, friendly staff, strong drinks, and unique pizza make this a great place to stop by.

  • Brian D.

Easily the best pizza you can get in Baton Rouge. Very reasonable prices, and the dine-in atmosphere is quite unique. My only complaints is the often long wait times, and that they don't accept credit cards. The food more than makes up for both of those inconveniences. Also, friendly staff, and the proprietor is usually on site, she's very nice. The one time I had a problem with my order, they gave our entire table half off our pizzas. That's how you run a business.

A local staple, Fleur De Lis has been serving Baton Rouge great pizza since 1946. Although the building is rather old and is full of smoke (even though smoking has been banned since 2007), it is still a great place to dine in. The restaurant has a full bar and, unarguably, the best pizza in town. Even the cheese pizza is bursting with flavor! I do not recommend bringing small children though, as this place can get a bit crazy late at night and it is also in a rather bad part of town. Be sure to order an Around the World pizza if you eat here (which contains Anchovy, so if you don't like Anchovy, then let your server know!), and remember that this pace does not accept credit cards!

I loved this place. Probably the best pizza in the state. I have been there 3 times and I have never had pizza like this. Do yourself a favor and get an "Around The World"....definately a hole in the wall place and they could use some extra lighting. My times there were never all that busy, though I hear it is very popular with the LSU crowd. VERY friendly staff!

this place is fabulous - not because the pizzas are made in a pepto-bismol pink building that looks more like a seedy night club than a pizza place and it is not because the pizzas are rectangular instead of round. Instead, it is the side of freshly grated romano cheese that you can get with your order. by just looking at it, one with think that it is just plain old parmasen cheese. but no, this cheese is like little pieces of clouds floating in the sky. it is moist and flavorful and delicious. sprinkle a little on your pizza, close your eyes, and dig in. you will swear you were sent to heaven. i recommend getting your pizza to go, especially if you are a non-smoker. there have been times while dining inside that i actually miss my mouth while taking a bite because of lack of vision - the air can get very thick with smoke.

This is the best pizza in Baton Rouge, bar none. An old-style place with a lot of charm. It's one of the things I really miss about Baton Rouge.

LOVE IT. Total old-man-bar feel that happens to serve the only truly standout pizza in Baton Rouge. I love the Coke in the little bottle too...nice touch. I have only come during off peak hours and I think that is the key to avoiding the smoke filled room thing...I did attempt to go at high noon once and the parking lot was so packed we decided we'd come another day. This est. is not to be missed...and hard to miss frankly with the fabulously Pepto Pink paint job outside and dive bar goodness inside.

An old Baton Rouge Tradition. I have enjoyed some of the best Pizza in town here since I move here in 1984. The place is a little dirty and dingey, but it adds to the character of the place (been here for over 50 years!) . They do not accept credit cards (bummer), but prices are about half of some other places. Lunch for less then 10 bucks, and always a GREAT pizza!

Square-delicious-cheap-not Wolfgang Puck imitation pizza. The smoke is no longer a problem since Louisiana now prohibits smoking in all restaurants, but this place is still a dive. Most of the servers have been smoking since they were sixteen so you may still walk away smelling like pizza grease and smoke. But that's part of the Fleur-de-Lis experience! They only take cash, are always packed and don't take reservations, so get there about an hour before you're hungry and have a beer while you patiently wait for your pizza. Definitely check it out!

Fleur De Lis is a great little hole in the wall pizza place. Their pizza beats all others in Baton Rouge, hands down. It's a little smoky barroom type place. The menus are attached to the table and it's cash only. They also charge for refills on drinks other than water because the drinks come in glass bottles. The pizza is decently priced though and so delicious. You also get a good amount of food.

this is a hole-in-the-wall joint with some of the best pizza you'll find in b.r. pizza-slices are square, piping hot, and oh-so-fresh. the atmosphere's interesting...a little pink building with a laid-back, hidden gem kinda feel. as stated by others, it gets a bit smoky, but, other than that, i found it to be a family-friendly kinda place...even has a pinball machine in the corner.

The pizza is really not very good. It is just okay- but I haven't had good pizza in louisiana yet. I give it four stars because of the atmosphere which is old school hole in the wall. Well priced and fun.

  • Brian R.

  • Christine S.

Which door do you enter into...found it. Definitely an older crowd during lunch. It is a cash only place and the day I visited, a police officer came out of the kitchen which seemed strange. The pizza was great. The service was good. I would return.

  • Jamie G.

It looks like it will burn down any second. Please just go eat it. Look at the pictures. It tastes a million times better than how awesome the pics look. Again, no way to explain. Just eat it. Best ever.

I love Fleur De Lis Pizza. There simply isn't any better in Baton Rouge. I would suggest going at off "peak" times if you want to dine in, or take-out for dinner as it can be hard to get a table.

I heard that this place is the best in Baton Rouge. I hope to go back soon and try again

Great pizza. Just tried this place a couple of months ago and have been back several times. Definitely meets my "cheap eats" criteria. Place is full of folks who've been eating there for years. You know you found a great place when you have them tell you they've been coming to this place for more than 20 years.

    (5)

I'm not a fan. I ordered the vegetarian pizza for lunch. The veggies were not fresh, the pizza sauce was boring, and the crust was too thick. They don't take credit cards.

  • Bethany F.

this place is fabulous - not because the pizzas are made in a pepto-bismol pink building that looks more like a seedy night club than a pizza place and it is not because the pizzas are rectangular instead of round.

    (5)
  • Katie Q.

    (4)
  • Morgan M.

  • Mandi C.

  • Russell S.

    (4)
  • Emily M.

this is a hole-in-the-wall joint with some of the best pizza you'll find in b.r. pizza-slices are square, piping hot, and oh-so-fresh. the atmosphere's interesting...a little pink building with a laid-back, hidden gem kinda feel. as stated by others, it gets a bit smoky, but, other than that, i found it to be a family-friendly kinda place...even has a pinball machine in the corner.

    (4)
  • Elkay D.

The pizza is really not very good. It is just okay- but I haven't had good pizza in louisiana yet. I give it four stars because of the atmosphere which is old school hole in the wall. Well priced and fun.

  • Jay D.

  • Shannon S.

  • Meredith F.

  • Mandy V.

    (3)
  • Brandii W.

I wasn't over impressed with this place. The pizza was okay. And a large wasn't really large at all. It's also a tad bit on the expensive side. A large peperoni costs 12. And, they don't take credit cards. Cash or check only.
